South Texas via My Iphone
This weekend, my boyfriend Chris and I traveled down to his parents place in South Texas for the long weekend. Chris was working on a photo project in which you document your view of Texas and share it with people on Instagram for a few days before the account gets passed to another person and repeat. Since both of us grew up around the same area, it is interesting to see someone else's view and how they appreciate the same land you do.
I grew up more on the Coastal Bend side of the South, but was familiar with a lot of the towns that we visited this weekend due to playing them in football and other high school sports. That area of Texas has always been such a huge influence on me and I'm truly grateful for growing up in such a small town and getting to experience so many others along the way. We talked and joked about this on the drive, but when you come from a small town you get used to having to drive other places to do things. So growing up, you get accustomed to other small towns and cities because often times there aren't things to do in your own. When I moved away to college, my roommates had grown up in Austin their whole lives and couldn't believe my town didn't have a Walmart. Crazy!//
