Disney's Animal Kingdom
I'm back with another installment of my Disney vacation! This time it's for Animal Kingdom. On both vacations, it seems that Animal Kingdom has gotten the short end of the stick and not much time in and that's really unfortunate to me. But nonetheless, here is how we made the most of our time that was spent in the wild!
As soon as we entered the park we headed straight back to go utilize our fast passes for the Finding Nemo: The Musical show. Have you seen this show? If not, you REALLY need to, it was the highlight of my day in Animal Kingdom! All of the performers were fantastic and I loved the interactions that took place throughout the show. Our fast passes allowed us to be second row, but I have a feeling there wasn't a bad seat in the house with this one!
After Finding Nemo, we headed over to Dino land were we wandered around, met more characters, and enjoyed the carnival like experience. We rode Dinosaur, which included a nice little intro by Josh from Veronica's Closet. (Is that reference lost on people? Not sure if anyone actually used to watch that show like me.) Unfortunately for us, Expedition Everest was closed while we were there with no reopen time stated, so I still have yet to ride it.
After more wandering around, we decided it was time for some food and landed on Restaurantosaurus. This was a great counter service option and I'm glad we stumbled upon it for lunch! Both my sister and I had hot dogs topped with mac and cheese with cheesecakes for dessert. It was hard coming home from Disney World and NOT receiving a dessert with every meal. After lunch, we managed to get a Kilimanjaro Safaris in before calling it a day!
