With Texas having million degree heat from May till forever, I find myself reaching for lighter more refreshing cocktails to get me through these times.  And really what's more refreshing than a spritzer? The word just sounds like a splash of water to the face. Whether you make it with wine, gin or whatever you choose, it's bound to make those temperatures more bearable. When the guys over at Liber & Co. gifted me some of their handcrafted mixers to try, I knew one of these syrups would definitely get spritzed.

Liber & Co. is a great three-man rodeo here in Austin producing small batch mixers for the at home bars across the globe. Chris, Adam and Robert are truly mixing up some amazing syrups that are the perfect addition to any cocktail you want to make. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've had the Gum Syrup and Texas Grapefruit Shrub constantly on hand since I stumbled upon their company over a year ago. You can find out more about them, look at other recipes and shop all from their website HERE.

Grenadine & Rosemary Gin Spritzer

  • 1 oz. Gin
  • 1/2 oz. rosemary simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. grenadine
  • 1 Topo Chico

Instructions for rosemary simple syrup: Combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan on medium heat till the sugar dissolves. Transfer to a container and place rosemary inside the liquid. The longer you leave the rosemary in the syrup, the stronger the flavor.

Instructions for cocktail: Place ice in glass and combine gin, rosemary simple syrup, lemon juice and grenadine. Top with Topo Chico and give it a good stir, then enjoy!
