I'll admit, the summertime around here makes it hard for a whiskey lover like myself to actually enjoy drinking whiskey. Because it's hot. Like really hot. And all I seem to reach for are margaritas, sangrias or beer to cool me down. However, whenever you add fresh fruit and citrus into the mix it becomes an entirely different game. This blackberry ginger sour is light enough to be sipped on all summer, but still has that bite I look for in whiskey based drinks making it the perfect go-to for these hot temps!

Blackberry Ginger Sour

Directions: Muddle together the blackberries, ginger simple syrup and lemon juice in the bottom of a shaker. Add ice and whiskey then shake to combine. Strain over ice and enjoy!
