24 Hours in San Antonio, Texas
One of my favorite parts about living in Texas is how many awesome day trips you can take no matter where you're located at in the state. It always seems like you're just a short car ride away from a new adventure. So keeping that in mind, we decided to take an overnight trip to San Antonio not too long ago and had SUCH a good time. Given our super hectic schedules lately (wedding planning is hard yall!), it was nice to just get outta town and relax a little even for one night. Below are some of the highlights from our time!
Somehow I managed to let Chris talk me into staying at the supposedly haunted Crockett Hotel. Hauntings aside, The Crockett was a terrific location (right next to the Alamo) for any out of town guests looking to be within walking distance of it all. It was nice to be staying so close to everything because it allowed us to walk back and take advantage of the pool whenever we were too over heated from exploring.
Chris absolutely loves San Antonio (he'd live there in a heart beat) and used to frequent it a lot so we already had a basic idea of things we'd like to do while there. Some terrific places we visited included:
The Esquire Tavern - The oldest bar on the river walk if I'm not mistaken and such a cool place to grab a cocktail! I've been here a few times and never had a bad drink.
Luke - Amazing happy hour deals, especially if you're up for $1 oysters!
The Friendly Spot - The Friendly Spot literally feels like you're sitting in someones backyard having a few sangrias or Lonestars. This is a must-visit every time we're in town. Plus, all of Southtown is a super fun area of SA to go explore in.
La Fogata - Speaking of Mexican food, we ventured over to La Fogata to relax on their beautiful patio and sip margaritas while diving into huge delicious plates of enchiladas.
What's your favorite spot in San Antonio? We're always looking for new places to visit when we're there!
